Blog # 9 Food, Inc.

Food, Inc I recently watched the trailer for the documentary Food, Inc. , and found it both eye-opening and deeply thought-provoking. The film examines the industrial food system in the United States, revealing how big corporations shape what we eat, often prioritizing profit over health, ethics, or sustainability. What struck me the most is how this documentary connects to the daily life and choices of its audience. In our busy schedules, it’s easy to grab a quick snack or a fast-food meal without thinking of where it comes from or how it is made. Food, Inc. does a great job in explaining how this result is not accidental. The main purpose of the food industry is to make processed, pre-packaged meals cheap, widely available, and addictive—encouraging others to choose speed rather than nutrition or ethics. I wanted to share  this with everyone because it starts to challenge the consumers to think about how their food is being made and why is it cheaper than organic ingredie...

Blog #8 League of Legends: The most dominant esports league in the world

In recent years the gaming industry has been rising in popularity across the world. Starting first from gaming YouTube channels and now leaning to professional gaming tournaments also known as "E SPORTS". Among those there has been a couple of games that remained strong in popularity for example (Counter Strike, DOTA, League of Legends). If we were to rank between these three on who remains at the top people would say League of Legends without any hesitation. Why League of Legends Remains the Most Dominant Esport in the World For more than a decade, League of Legends has been at the center of global esports. While many trophies have come and gone across the regions Riot's (Game Developer) flagship MOBA has been able to shape the industry to what it is now. The game set new standards bringing in millions of players to it's fan base worldwide, but people sometimes ask themselves what exactly makes League of Legends so dominant. League of Legends boasts one of the larg...

Entry #7 What “Fresh” did to open my eyes about our Food Inustry

What Fresh Made Me Realize About Our Food Watching Fresh made me rethink something I usually take for granted—where my food actually comes from. The film pulls back the curtain on the farms, animals, and systems behind our meals, and it instantly makes you wonder why we don’t think about this more often. The purpose of Fresh is simple: wake people up to the real costs of cheap, industrial food. It’s aimed at everyday consumers and uses a tone that’s honest but still hopeful. Instead of doom and gloom, it shows that better, more sustainable farming is possible—and already happening. What stood out most was the contrast between massive industrial farms and small regenerative ones. Seeing overcrowded animals next to farms that care about soil, land, and humane treatment made the issue feel real. It also showed that our choices matter more than we think. In the end, the film made me realize how disconnected many Americans are from their food. Sure, it’s “easier” not to know—but that does...

Entry #6 : Rise of the Indie Games

The Rise of Indie Games: How Small Studios Changed the Gaming World Setting the Stage For a long time, video games were dominated by huge studios with massive budgets — think Call of Duty or Assassin’s Creed . But in the last decade, something amazing happened: small, independent developers started making games that captured players’ hearts and even challenged the big studios. These “indie games” have grown from niche passion projects to major cultural hits. What makes an “Indie” game? The biggest thing about and “Indie” game is it’s made by small company or a group of developers who don’t necessarily have the financial backing of a company. While they have aren’t well established on the financial side, it makes them independent and these developers can take creative risks, tell unique stories, and experiment with gameplay in ways larger studios usually avoid. Games like Undertale and Celeste explore themes like morality, mental health, and personal growth — showing that games...

ENTRY #5: Laughing at Risk — Allstate Mayhem “Baseball Dad”

Laughing at Risk — Allstate Mayhem “Baseball Dad”      Allstate’s “Baseball Dad” ad turns everyday accidents into comedy by personifying risk as the character Mayhem. A distracted parent causes chaos at a youth baseball game, showing how small mistakes can lead to big consequences. While the ad promotes insurance, it’s really about peace of mind — preparing for life’s unpredictable mishaps.      The ad encourages audiences to laugh while recognizing the truth: accidents happen, and being insured is smart. It promotes a suburban, family-focused lifestyle and values responsibility, preparedness, and financial prudence. The humor comes from exaggeration of familiar situations, like clumsy parents or chaotic youth games, making the message entertaining and relatable.      Designed for middle-aged parents and homeowners, the ad uses familiar settings, natural lighting, and light-hearted sound cues to make the chaos feel absurd yet plausible...

Entry #4: Protecting the Players — Head Safety in the NFL

Entry #4: Protecting the Players — Head Safety in the NFL Football is one of the most exciting sports to watch, but behind the action lies a serious issue — head safety. For years, NFL players have suffered concussions that can lead to long-term brain injuries like chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE). The league has made progress with better helmets, concussion protocols, and sideline evaluations, but players still face pressure to return too soon. Head safety isn’t just an NFL problem — it’s a message that reaches all levels of football. Young athletes see pros pushing through injuries, thinking that’s what toughness means. The NFL has the power to change that mindset by showing that protecting your brain is just as important as winning a game. Because no championship is worth risking your future health. In recent years, fans have also become more aware of this issue, calling for greater accountability from teams and coaches. The conversation around player safety has started ...
