ENTRY #5: Laughing at Risk — Allstate Mayhem “Baseball Dad”

Image
Laughing at Risk — Allstate Mayhem “Baseball Dad”      Allstate’s “Baseball Dad” ad turns everyday accidents into comedy by personifying risk as the character Mayhem. A distracted parent causes chaos at a youth baseball game, showing how small mistakes can lead to big consequences. While the ad promotes insurance, it’s really about peace of mind — preparing for life’s unpredictable mishaps.      The ad encourages audiences to laugh while recognizing the truth: accidents happen, and being insured is smart. It promotes a suburban, family-focused lifestyle and values responsibility, preparedness, and financial prudence. The humor comes from exaggeration of familiar situations, like clumsy parents or chaotic youth games, making the message entertaining and relatable.      Designed for middle-aged parents and homeowners, the ad uses familiar settings, natural lighting, and light-hearted sound cues to make the chaos feel absurd yet plausible...

Entry #4: Protecting the Players — Head Safety in the NFL

Entry #4: Protecting the Players — Head Safety in the NFL Football is one of the most exciting sports to watch, but behind the action lies a serious issue — head safety. For years, NFL players have suffered concussions that can lead to long-term brain injuries like chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE). The league has made progress with better helmets, concussion protocols, and sideline evaluations, but players still face pressure to return too soon. The NFL has the power to change that mindset by showing that protecting your brain is just as important as winning a game. Because no championship is worth risking your future health. In recent years, fans have also become more aware of this issue, calling for greater accountability from teams and coaches. The conversation around player safety has started ...

Entry #3 My Mint

It begins to crinkle—the soft, papery rustle of a wrapper being peeled back, deliberate and slow, like unsealing a secret. The feeling against my fingertips cool, smooth and round like a row of pearls nestles in a row. Perfection in a matte white form, a confident yet quiet look, like it knows the effect it’s about to have. From the moment you place it on your tongue. The first feeling, it’s firm, light. Then, after a couple of seconds the first crack catches you off-guard. A rush of coolness floods your taste buds and awakens your senses before you could even react to it. The fresh feeling reminds of you of those moments when you step outside on a cold morning  and realizing you’re more alive than you thought you were. The longer it stays in your mouth you can feel it slowly melt, deliberately, until it’s completely gone. It’s small. It’s simple. But it’s powerful. A clarity of breath that;s tucked inside a pocket-sized moment.
